Videos have become a great form of expression in this day and age. While videos were considered premium content a while back, it has become extremely common nowadays. With every mobile phone coming with a good camera, it's very easy to shoot your own video and upload it to any video platform for the world to see. The world of the internet first relied mostly on textual content with most of the user's time spent in reading articles, posts, and blogs. However, videos have become the most viewed content over the web now with the masses easily consuming most of the videos that are uploaded over the internet. While YouTube is a great platform for uploading and sharing videos, it isn't exactly a social media app where you can share and comment on videos that you like or dislike with your friends. Scorp is a social video community which makes an effort to fill this gap by offering a platform where you can watch, comment and share videos only.
The idea behind Scorp is great but the app's execution is found lacking. The app hardly delivers on what the platform promises. Once you have installed the app, it takes you directly to the videos page. The newest version of the app has no categories, no option of creating your own profile and no option of uploading your own videos. The only thing you can do is to watch videos made by other people. The social video community app has even disbarred new users from even liking or commenting on the video as well. This obviously leads to a very poor app experience which is frustrating. This is because the platform offers a genuinely good option to share personalized videos and then to discuss the content of the video as part of a community of people with similar interests. However, with the app simply not allowing anyone to create profiles or generate content of their own, it's obvious that there is something wrong with it that needs fixing quickly.
The older version of the social video community app offers the option of browsing videos through different interesting categories. From introduction videos to content related to relationships and from messages for exes to pick up line tutorials, it was great to browse through different categories and then discuss everything related to the video in the comments section. However, the newest version simply doesn't allow this luxury and all you are left to do is browse videos and see what people have to say in their videos.
Scorp also wastes the chance of adding new members to its community now by simply not allowing anyone to create a new profile on the platform. This means that there is no option of uploading fresh content for any new member who has downloaded the app. This is greatly frustrating for people who view Scorp as a social video community platform where they can upload their own messages regarding their lives and relationships. With the newest version though simply disallowing any such action, the app has simply got everything wrong.
- Free to download and browse through videos
- A wide variety of videos available for browsing
- Fine video player which loads videos quickly
- Good sound available with videos for its viewers
Scorp – Watch Videos is supposed to be a social video community app. However, with lack of categories for browsing through various videos, no option of uploading fresh content and zero choices of offering comments on videos, the app's newest version is a total dud and simply shouldn't be downloaded. If the app reverts to one of its older versions where you can add new stuff and check out different categories then it would once again become worth downloading.
